Rivals update number 2. It turns out that the Aggies will get the south steps becuase some people don't know how to make a hijinx turn into fun. Fearing problems with having the Longhorns on the south steps and the Aggies on the north steps of the Capitol, Judith Zaffirini (the state official providing sponorship for the reservation) decided to withdraw her support of the Hellraisers.

I can sort of understand her concerns. A riot on the Capitol grounds wouldn't exactly look good. But the Hellraisers reserved the south steps fair and square--if anything they should just close off the Capitol to any gatherings that night, period. And she's a ex-Longhorn. How could she abandon her alma mater?
That's ridiculous!
Oh, crap! I found a typo in my comment. That should be "an ex-Longhorn," not "a ex-Longhorn." Whew! I think I caught it before Scootypuff saw my error. Wait...is that right?
I'm not going to tell you right away. I'm just going to let you stew.
MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Gave it to the Aggies. What a sissy turncoat.
I don't know what district she represents, or if she's even up for re-election, but I'm sure this is all political.
As far as the grammar police, I now plead poetic license for any mistakes in my comments.
:P
Personally, I've had it with this particular classless "tradition". I'm hoping that a lot of Longhorns will show up anyway.
