To take advantage of the growing popularity of sailing and bringing it down to the level of extreme sports, moth sailing is coming to the United States. Hydrofoils actually allow this boat to pull up out of the water. Pretty cool stuff. Too bad I'm still not completely comfortable in water.

When I was growing up every year at Christmas and my birthday I always asked for a four wheeler. I new I would never get it, but I asked anyway. I think I will now be asking for one of these. Those things look like so much fun. I went to one of the dealer websites and got the price list. Maybe in a few years.
I'm curious what a regular sailboat costs, just to compare.
So now that you're a grown adult, who do you ask come Christmas or your birthday to get you toys, your wife? Yeah, my lady controls the checkbook, too. ;-)
If Biyou let me wear a life jacket and perhaps a pair of those arm floaties they make for kids, I'd be inclined to try this out with you.
You're on buddy. Once I get good at it, you can come aboard. I will teach you how to not only sail it but to also get the benefits of using it like a washlet.
To answer your question of cost ... a Hobie Wave Catamaran (a 1,2 or possibly 3 person vessel) is only about $4500. If, however you go for one of their fiberglass models it puts the price up there around $8700 for the absolute base model.
You should just do what I do: have a brother with a kick ass ski boat and go wake boarding all the time.
