My fear is that Alec Baldwin will quit the show soon when he remembers that he is primarily a movie star. I'll enjoy it while it lasts, though.
When was the last time you saw Alec Baldwin (or any Baldwin) in a movie? The nineties was the decade of Baldwin. Their time is over.
Steven Baldwin is traveling with a Billy Graham-type program.
Billy Baldwin is doing???
David Baldwin isn't even a has-been; he's a never was. John Carpenter's Vampires is the closest he came to not doing a B movie.
Alec is on a hit show. Considering that he continually winds up looking like an ass when dealing with his ex and his daughter, and thus hurting his ability to fill movie theater seats, I think that he will milk this gig for as long as he can.
Actually, he's had some memorable supporting roles lately. The subtle comic relief in an otherwise intense Scorsese flick, The Departed, and a nice role as an FBI agent in De Niro's The Good Shepard. Granted, these aren't headlining roles like he used to get. Still, I always get the impression that movie stars feel like their slumming it a bit when they're on TV.
Oh yeah, I forgot about those. I didn't see the Good Shepard, though. And yeah, I've heard that disdain fro TV, too.
But, it's like any other genre - there is really crummy TV, and (lately) really brilliant TV.
