Respect the c@ck...

Is it considered child molestation when you make a little girl rub a big phallus?

Actually, this was a report in Japan of the Kanamara Matsuri (Festival of the Steel Phallus), an annual fertility festival. Legend has it that a demon hid inside the vagina of a young girl in the town of Kawasaki and basically bit off men's penises until a local blacksmith forged a steel phallus which broke the teeth of the demon and ran it out of town. The story somehow stemmed from the spread of syphilis and other sexually transmitted diseases some 400 years ago with the iron phallus becoming a shrine for prostitutes to ask for protection. Today, childless couples also come to the shrine in hopes of becoming fertile.

Wow Swany, you used every internet predator alert keyword in that blog. We're all going to be on Dateline getting busted soon.

One of the final episodes of Dave Attell's 'Insomniac' series was from that festival, and it was hilarious. They take that thing friggin serious... Well as serious as a celebration around paper mache wangs can be I suppose.

I guess that's the Japanese version of the Oscar Meyer wienermobile.

There is a Native American people (I forget which one - in the southwest somewhere) which had a nearly identical legend. Coyote (the trickster in SW Native lore) wants to bang this chick, but back then vaginas had teeth. So he sticks a rock in her mumble gums and when it bites it breaks all the teeth. Smooth sailing from there.

Gentlemen, let's all thank Coyote.

Honestly, I'm convinced that these myths speak to the fear of being emasculated. In the legends it is literal, but I think they are metaphor for a more figurative emasculation - what we used to call having your balls in your wife's purse.

I forgot to add, "Tame the p*ssy," to my post title to complete my Tom Cruise Magnolia reference. Now, I think the FBI will definitely be monitoring my blog traffic.
