That was well thought out, and I agree with his approach. The only thing he didn't mention was the fact that we could take action and it could still lead to the worst case scenario. But at least you could say that we still took action.

I agree with this guys argument, but only because the evidence seems to weigh heavily on the side that global warming is a real phenomenon, or at least is equal in feasibility as the counter view. I'm not sure you can really use the "What's the worst that can happen?" kind of thinking if the science mostly supported it wasn't real. After all, that's why we have science and math, to try and figure out what would and what wouldn't happen given a set of variables.

Actually, though, I think Cheney secretly believes in global warming and is already expecting the worst case scenario. This is why the current administration has been so hot to push for a manned mission to Mars--he's hoping to leave this planet so as to escape the hoards of irate Americans and others around the world that will want to kill him after he leaves office and his Secret Service detail significantly decreases in number.
