I think when they finally wrap up Lost, I'll be hitting myself on the head, and saying, "Oh! Why didn't I think of that?" After last night's episode, I'm totally out of ideas as to how this whole thing will come together in the end. If they take some "Who shot J.R.?" plot twist ending and say this was all in someone's head all along, though, I may just have to find out where J.J. Abrams lives so I can egg his house.
Anywho, I'm not sure if all the six degrees of separation and such are important to the end plot or just something for the audience to "geek out" to, but this website manages to show all kinds of screen caps of interesting Easter eggs you might have missed on first glance.

I don't watch Lost, and unfortunately I haven't been watching BSG or Heroes lately either, and I blame you guys.
If you don't mention them, then I forget to watch them. So talk about those shows, especially on the days that they're on.
Not watching TV? Man, I must not be doing my job. I thought that "What I'm Watching" widget in the sidebar would have been enough without being obnoxious (although it is way at the bottom). To think you've been missing out on all those hours of procrastination because you forgot to flip on the tube?
Too bad you don't watch Lost. With all the subtle religious and philosophical references that probably get missed by most people (including me), I'm guessing you might like it.
I actually enjoyed the last episode, because I felt like it got back to some of the originality of the show. Interesting how I thought it was Claire he was trying to save. Actually that is not interesting at all because that is what they were trying to make us all think.
One possible easter egg I saw I think was the back drop in Desmonds photo. Wasn't it the back drop of Miami they showed in the episode with whatever her name and her sister?
Just because I have nothing worthwhile to add, and I don't watch the show, I'll just point out that since the hiatus, Lost has had continually dropping ratings and the last show was even worse then they predicted (we're talking Cosby Show against The Simpsons poor) and many are wondering if the show will even stay on air to be finished. Something I heard this morning and thought I'd lay on you.
Not surprising. I think most people don't have the patience for these drawn out story arcs. I mean, really, look what's beating out Lost--American Idol and CSI:NY. BSG is having a similar problem, although they never really had a huge audience share to begin with. I think Wild Willie pointed out long ago that Heroes could easily fall into that trap, as well. Kind of a shame.
Seriously, these long drawn out shows are beginning to hack me off. I will say this ... If Lost and BSG don't start to think about wrapping stuff up, then I am going to quit watching. That might sound blasphemous to Swany, but something has to change. I don't have the time to be strung along only to find out something stupid was in the works. I did it with Alias. I can do it again. I give both Lost and BSG the rest of this season. Heroes (while it is a good show) is on probation as well.
We all know it is about money, but how cool would it be to have Lost come to a finally, and then spin off a show. Heck the spinoff could be used to raise and answer questions about what happened in Lost. I think that would be more popular than dragging it out way too long. Just an idea.
I agree 100% Willie. BSG has fallen off my radar lately for all the same reasons. We need some closure, not just adding more and more Cylon models, each more surprising then the last!
And the Alias thing, don't get me started. That was the JR shooting all over again in my opinion. I stopped watching when they started pulling all the crap about this agency is really this agency and you never worked for who you thought you did stuff. Elementary school hacky story gimmicks in my opinion.
I'm still holding out hope for Heroes, but only time will tell.
Ah! My eyes! I can't believe I'm reading such things! Stop watching BSG?!
The problem with Alias was the network. I got the impression that a lot of how they sort of wrapped it up was more related to the constraints of what ABC executives wanted, and then having to give the audience some closure when they were forced to end the show.
I will agree, though, that some of these arc shows are getting a bit too drawn out without providing any intermittent relief. You almost wish they would somehow fashion these like movie franchises such as Star Wars or Lord of the Rings--give some immediate closure periodically, but keep the overall story arc going.
As far as Heroes goes, keep in mind it's only been on for a little over half a season, and I think they've revealed quite a lot in that time.
