If the Red River Shootout wasn't enough reason to come to the State Fair of Texas...

I've had my share of odd fried foods in the past.  I ate my first fried Twinkie at the Missouri State Fair a few years back and had some fried Oreos and fried Ho-Ho's at the Iowa State Fair a couple of years ago.  I think I've even had a fried Snicker bar at some point in my life.

And I'm sure I've mentioned my love for chicken fried steak somewhere on this blog.

But low and behold what's in store for the upcoming State Fair of Texas combining two of my favorite foods--chicken fried BACON!!  I think I may go to hell just thinking about eating such a dish.  It's like porn for your taste buds.  Oh man, I'm in trouble.

I actually think that looks pretty good. I would have to try it, but there is no way I would waste any room in my stomach so I could ingest countless Fletcher's corn dogs.

After reading through the article a minute ago, I came across one that totally reminded me of lunch during high school. They had fried quartered grilled cheese sandwiches. Does anyone remember the name of the place where we would get the cheese fritters. I think that is what they were called.

Damn, I know exactly what you're talking about, but I can't remember where those cheese fritters came from either.

And I'll have to try a Fletcher's corn dog. I only went to the State Fair once for the Texas-OU game our freshman year of college, but I don't recall really sticking around for the fair itself.
