Remember that comedy sketch from Raw? Perhaps if Eddie Murphy's mother had wrapped up that egg-filled hamburger in a McDonald's box, it wouldn't have been so bad. From CNN:
The study had youngsters sample identical McDonald's foods in name-brand and unmarked wrappers. The unmarked foods always lost the taste test....
Study author Dr. Tom Robinson said the kids' perception of taste was "physically altered by the branding." The Stanford University researcher said it was remarkable how children so young were already so influenced by advertising.
The study involved 63 low-income children ages 3 to 5 from Head Start centers in San Mateo County, Calif. Robinson believes the results would be similar for children from wealthier families.
I wonder how kids raised on watching Veggie Tales come out in this study.

I agree wholeheartedly that kids from wealthier families would have similar results. They would have been influenced by the wrapper. They would have been snobs about it and not eaten anything from McDonald's.
Yeah, actually, you're probably not far off there, Wild Willie. I'll have to look around on the Internet to find this article that ran in The New York Times awhile back about rich kids developing gourmet tastes. To ensure their children had discriminating palates, they would enroll them in these sophisticated cooking classes. If I remember right, they mention a five year old talking about the finer points of sushi.
That kid looks like the Michelin man - look at his right arm.
