Does whatever a spider can...

The Tobey Maguire Spiderman movies set the bar pretty high, but the images released for the upcoming Spiderman reboot look pretty "amazing." They even went classic with the old-school mechanical web slingers. Awesome. The only negative? We have to wait till the summer of 2012.

Spidermen of the world unite...

I'm not exactly sure what I just watched:

And on a somewhat related note, Spiderman was seen rescuing babies in Brazil:

A five-year-old boy dressed as Spider-Man became a real life hero when he saved a baby girl from a burning house in Brazil.

Pint-sized superhero Riquelme Maciel stepped into the house to pull the one-year-old to safety after he saw her mother crying. The boy had been playing with a friend in his back yard when they spotted smoke coming from the window of a wooden house. Using his Spidey senses he ran to tell the baby's mother Lucilene dos Santos, but she was too afraid to enter the blazing house.

Without hesitating, the tiny masked crusader decided he would brave the flames to save baby Andrieli from her cradle. Mrs Santos told reporters: "He said, 'don't cry, don't scream because I'm going to save Andrielle'.

"Then I began shouting for him not to go because I was scared he would die in the fire."

But Riquelme did not think twice. After the rescue the Spider-Boy simply said: "I decided to go inside the house and save her."

Was it really that bad?

As expected, Spiderman 3 broke all kinds of records, both domestically and abroad--$148 million in it's opening weekend here in the United States, and $227 million in foreign countries combined. I, however, did not contribute to those ticket sales, as my wife has been out of town and I swore I would wait to see it with her. Most of the reviews I've read, though, have been pretty negative. Anyone here want to lay down an opinion? Should I rush to go see it as soon as my wife's plane touches down today?

Feel free to put up a review on a seperate post, if you like.

Some more Spidey stuff to get you in the mood...

A little over two more weeks till Spiderman 3 comes out. I saw a link on Pop Candy to this video by Snow Patrol who contributed a song to the soundtrack. It's not technically brilliant, but it's awesome nonetheless. Really makes me want to be a kid again:
