A cautionary tale...

I'm not sure where this unaired episode of Tiny Toons came from, but I found it quite funny. Buster convinces Plucky and Hamton to join him in trying a beer resulting in the trio getting drunk of their asses...on one bottle of beer. I've heard of nursing a beer before, but how they manage to make this bottle last so long is amazing. And there's a part in this where Plucky comes across a police car they eventually steal that made me think he was about to say, "Oh, Maserati. Much better than my car. And what's this? Keys?!"

Man, now that's what I call a major beer foul...

Since I don't care about that other tournament anymore...

Anyone keeping up with The Washington Post's First Annual Beer Madness Tournament? 32 American brews went at it, and now it's down to the Final Four. I was a bit tickled that PBR was the only contender that came in a can.

Alas, Shiner Bock didn't make it out of the Sweet Sixteen. Right now, my money is on Ellie's Brown Ale. I've never had a chance to taste it, but you can't go wrong with a dog on your label.

Alternatives to water...

For 2007, I've been trying to decrease my alcohol consumption and drink more water (now successful for a whole four days), although I keep coming across new articles like this one from New York magazine rating a number of lesser known ales that sound mighty tasty. Sadly, Wankmaster Scratch will be disappointed to read that his beloved PBR got the big thumbs down. Don't feel bad, though, because the Saison Dupont that I seem to recall you and your lady raving about was well received. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate a bottle in my neck of the woods. :-(
